Heaven Hill is my home. They took me in when no one else would, introduced me to my family, and have always been here for me. But now I'm on the outside, not able to help the woman who has my heart.

I'm stuck, unsure of what to do, and struggling badly.

If anyone should be able to make their wife happy, it's their husband right?

The piece of light and hope we had at the end of the darkest times Heaven Hill has ever seen was snatched from us, and even though I'm trying to cope. It's not going well.

(4 Stars)

A little PSA for you: this is part of a series. This series rolls right into the next book, so there are things that have happened in the previous book that lead up to what is going on in this story. For this to make any impact at all and to not feel like you were dropped in the middle of chaos, you should read the previous stories. In the last story Mandy and Dalton lost their baby, and we started to see the breakdown of their relationship. After Mandy tried to end everything, she is now getting the help that she needs, while Dalton is now staying with Walker at the clubhouse, and working on being a man of many hats. The two have a long road ahead, do they have what it takes to come back together or is this truly the end of their relationship?

What an emotional roller coaster ride this story was! Watching Mandy and Dalton's relationship crumble the way it did was hard, but we do get a reward in watching them both work to make themselves whole again. I do believe this was the most emotional story in the series, it deals more with the feelings and not so much with the MC side of things. I give this 4 stars.

Blurb

They say first loves never last. Jackie Blue Kalinski was about to show them—whoever they are—that the word never is not in his vocabulary.

From the time Jack Kalinski was a preschooler he had a good sense of who he was and where he wanted to go in life. His childhood was spent drawing beautiful dresses for pretty people, male and female alike. Growing up with two dads who played hockey wasn’t exactly conducive to late night talks about tulle or tailor’s chalk, but he never let that stop his dreams of becoming a fashion designer or expressing the genderqueer heart that beat in his chest. His family’s love and support helped him through some painful losses that shaped him into the strong, vivacious, and charismatic college student he is today. Life hasn’t been a smooth ride, but Jack has persevered and is about to take the fashion world by storm.

Little does he suspect that his tidy life is about to be scorched by a chance meeting with one of the men playing hockey on the gay team his father coaches. Martin McKittrick not only catches Jack’s eye, but the much older man wins his heart. The passionate affair with the captain of the Marine Unit of the BFD burns red hot until the new couple run into a few snags that might dampen the inferno: Jack’s ascent into the fashion world, Martin’s job and the inherent dangers that come with it, and the fact that the well-kept secret romance has just been exposed to the world in a rather big way.

Wow, Jackie Blue gets a book and it is just as special as he is. We have watched Jackie since he was in the womb. Watched as he became the GQ man that he is, with loving parents (all four of them) that didn't push, nag, or belittle; they supported him with every skirt, hairbow, or hockey equipment (although that stage didn't last long). Now in college, Jackie is determined to make his mark in the fashion world. When he goes to a hockey game to show support for the family, the last thing he ever thought he would find was someone that made his heart beat harder and time stand still. Jackie may feel like an old soul but he still makes mistakes that only comes with age, one of those mistakes costs Jackie his chance with Martin. When Martin shows up and is willing to forgive Jackie, the two attempt to get back together but will their families be willing to accept their relationship?

This was such a good story, I loved that we got Jackie's story especially since he was such a big part of Vic and Dan's story. We get drama, danger, overbearing parents, age gap, and some really nice naughty bits. I give this 4 stars.

Release Date: September 15, 2020

Blurb

Monsters don’t often look like monsters on the outside.

Forced to marry a man I should hate, I’m now bound to Damian.

I sometimes wonder what he sees when he looks at me. Deer in headlights, I guess.

What I see is clear.

Darkness.
Desire.
Carnal want.

A man with too much experience.

The night he took me he told me I belong to him. He proved it on our wedding night. And I believe him when he says he’ll keep me safe. He won’t let anyone touch what’s his.

But I can’t forget what he is. Can’t forget the things he’s done.

And no matter what, I can’t let myself fall in love with him.

Excerpt

“Welcome home, Brother.”
I look up at Damian. Beautiful Damian.
He shifts his gaze to mine.
“Didn’t I tell you to leave the locked doors alone?” he asks me, but his voice is strange. Echoing in this dusty, forgotten place.
The music starts again. That eerie sound of piano keys played slowly, so fitting to this place, this room, this house.
My head is spinning.
The other man, Damian’s brother, says something. His voice is similar to Damian’s but off. Like his face. Wrong.
Damian tucks hair behind my ear.
I push his hand away, push his arms away. I turn slowly. They’re both watching me now, waiting to see what I’ll do.
And the tune keeps playing, the chords slow. Sad.
I need to look at him.
Can they hear my heartbeat? Blood beats like a drum against my ears.
Run.
Run.
But I can’t run. I meet a monster at every turn. One standing behind me. The other holding me.
He warned me about the monsters. How many more hide in this house?
“Cristina,” Damian says.
I keep turning, my body still pressed to Damian’s.
I’ve taken shelter in my enemy’s arms.
He’s in my periphery now. The monster. The brother. Tall, like Damian. I see the coat. It’s wet. He was the man walking back toward the house. It wasn’t Damian at all. What is out there that they go to see in the dead of night?

Picking up where book one left off, this is a duet and should be read together, in order. We have just met Lucas, Damian's twin, and there are a load more of secrets that have popped up. Now Cristina is about to be forced to marry Damian and join this horror story he calls a family. Everywhere she turns someone is lying to her, making her realize that she has no clue what is really going on. A promise is given, but she has no clue that Damian has no intention of keeping it... he will never let her go.

So all the build up seemed to have paid off, as book two finishes this duet nicely. Violence, danger, some ok naughty bits. I give this 4 stars.

Vince, the head of the Marcone family, has been somewhat the controlling force throughout the series. I say somewhat as his brothers are hardheaded and did their own thing at times. Anyways, the one time that Vince goes against what he should do, he ends up with Aria. Both are strong willed and fierce, so the story we get is once again full of action, drama and some hot naughty bits. I think Vince and Aria ended this series perfectly. I give this 4 stars.

  EXCERPT

“You invited me here, remember?” I say, putting my hands against my side. “What? Cat’s got your tongue?”   He smirks and lowers his eyes. A snort follows right after when his head drops between his shoulders. “No … I didn’t forget …”   “Then what? Why the hell did you invite me backstage, Cole?” I ask. “When you weren’t even here in your room. When you were off somewhere else doing … God knows what.” I choke up, I really don’t want to think about what he was doing with that girl, but I can think of a few things.   “Oh … jealous now, are we?” he muses, the look on his face practically spelling out sin. My eyes widen, and my lips part, but all I can do is stutter. “Wha—No, of course not.” He laughs in a guttural way that puts all my senses on high alert. “You’re funny, you know that?”   “What’s so funny?” I ask.   He shakes his head again, the stubborn grin on his face so sexy yet so infuriating at the same time. “Your reaction is better than I thought it would be …”   I frown, completely confused. “I don’t get it. What is going on? Why did you want me to be here if she—”   “She was a distraction,” he says, his muscles tensing up as he leans in closer. “For you.”   My lips part, but I have no idea how to respond. With his free hand, he reaches for my face, his thumb grazing my cheek as he grabs a strand of my hair and tucks it behind my ear. “I wanted to see what you’d do.”   That … that was a prank? To get me to make a fool out of myself? I thought he was finally opening up to me and trying to be a friend, and now he pulls this shit.   Fuck him. “No, fuck that, you don’t just get to prank me—” “Prank you?” he interjects, his brows furrowing. “You’re an—”   I can’t finish my sentence. Can’t even utter the words off my lips. Because he’s covered my mouth with his.   With his hands, he cups my face and slams his lips on mine.   And I stop breathing entirely.   The kiss is earth-shattering, hot, and greedy, like he’s wanted to do this since the day he met me but never found the right opportunity. Like he wants to take me right here, right now.   His grip on my face is overpowering, and when his body pushes against mine, I lose it. My knees feel weak, and my heart beats faster and faster as I struggle to cope with what’s happening. His lips feel electrifying against mine. Like they could kill me if I didn’t stop.   But I can’t. I can’t let Cole Travis do this to me.   So I force my brain to kick back into action and bite. He leaps back, touching his lip. Blood seeps down, and his tongue darts out to lick it up. “You bit me …” he says in a way that almost makes it sound unbelievable.   “Asshole,” I finally finish my sentence, and I wipe my index finger along my lip.

(3 Stars)

Monica is starting over at Black Mountain Academy after things went really bad at her last school. Her mother is understandable protective, but Monica is not going to let the past get in the way of her future and is determined to make things work at the new school.  Her cousin is the only person she knows here and thankfully willing to help Monica make the transition a bit better by giving her helpful advice on who she can hang with and who she shouldn't. Cole just happens to be one of the people that Monica should stay away from, but for some reason Monica just can't help the little attraction she has towards him, that is until he turns out to be just as horrible as her cousin said he was.  Cole wants Monica but knows he can never have her, but that doesn't mean he can't have a little fun until he is done with her.

Ok, so I love bully romances, no clue why just do. I don't know where my disconnect with this story is, I just know for some reason this story was not a hit for me.  I could not find it in me to like Monica at all and she had me rolling my eyes a lot. Cole didn't really come off as a bully, more just mean with some of the things that happened and I didn't feel the chemistry, even the naughty bits were lacking for me. I give this 3 stars.
