Deadly Hunt was the story of Nathan and Sophia. She's an ex soldier who recently left the army after a horrific assault at the hands of a Taliban interrogator. He's an ex FBI agent turned bodyguard/P.I. When the two meet and start a relationship, it turns out they are more involved than they realise, and it's not long before they are fighting for their lives.
KL Humphreys shows some serious promise. Deadly Hunt really drew me into the story, I was turning page after page wanting to know who the enemy was and how/why they were going after Sophia. It was quite fast paced and a lot happened but it was good and I liked it. I liked the way it also flipped back in time occasionally as Sophia remembered different parts of her childhood.
There were a couple of tell tale signs of a debut author, a few times it seemed to slip into a - they did this, then they did that- kind of narration but it wasn't enough to bother me. I did have one niggle though, I wanted an answer to a question I had, and I didn't get it. It wasn't a cliffy or anything like that, I just wanted to know something and I didn't find out, lol. I'm hoping I will get the answer in the next book in the series, as I'm assuming the series will stay with these core characters and maybe just focus on a different member of the team. I give Deadly Hunt 4 stars.

KL Humphreys was born in London, England but now lives in Ireland with the love of her life. In a way, the world has him to thank for her Debut Novel. After years of thinking about writing the story that had been dying to get out of her head, she finally confided in her other half. He gave her an enthusiastic "Go for It!" and she started writing it the very next day.
Miss Humphreys loves music, especially pop, R'n'B and rap and if she's writing you will find it playing somewhere nearby. She also loves all romance novels but of course, Romantic Suspense is her go to genre. When she isn't writing it...it's a good bet she is curled up somewhere reading one. If she doesn't have a book in her hand, you might want to check to make sure she isn't sick. When not reading or writing, she loves to spend time with her loved ones especially while watching a football game (that's soccer for you Americans)... COME ON YOU GUNNERS!!!!
