Cash’s POV
“Stay.”
It’s uttered so quietly, I assume she’s dreaming. Without turning to look at her, I take another step out of the room.
“Please.”
There is a desperate sound in her tone that seizes my heart and traps the air in my lungs. Turning back, I go to the side of the bed and crouch down, so I’m eye-level with her. Softly, I push the hair off her forehead and hold her gaze. All her defenses are down. If a person’s eyes are windows to their soul, I feel like I’m seeing into the depths of her. Seeing all the broken pieces.
“Stay.”

Ryann has had.... rough I don't think is a strong enough word, life. For a short time, she lived with her grandparents and they would summer at the beach; and that is where she met Cash. For three summers he was her friend and her first kiss, but even then she knew you couldn't just trust anyone with things from the past. Years later Ryann is back, having moved to the sea side town that brought her once such happiness, and now she is just looking for a safe haven. One night while she is working, she runs into the boy she once knew, and all at once she realizes that maybe, just maybe he could be the one she can trust with the past issues.... but what happens when those issues and new ones come back to haunt her? Will Cash look at her scars, and treat her like a monster, or will he really be her safe haven?
I really liked this story. With a twist that I didn't see coming at all, this had me on the edge of my seat. A bit of a dark read, trigger warning, there is some violence and a bit more. The sexy times and the chemistry made for some steamy bits. I give this 5 stars.
