He saw her from across a crowded ballpark and knew she was about to change his life.
Yes, he realizes just how cliché that really is, but the moment his eyes locked on her, he knew that she was the one.
At least, the one that royally screwed him over. The one responsible for his demotion and the subsequent disciplinary action taken against him before he’d even gotten out of the probationary period with Kilgore Police Department.
It all started with a kiss.

Saylor Rae Spada tried to mind her business. She also tried to not get involved in petty disputes.
However, from the moment she saw him sitting next to her at a professional baseball game, a game she didn’t even want to be at but was dragged to by her blind date, she couldn’t look away.
Then the kiss cam came on, featuring none other than her and the handsome stranger.
Without missing a beat, he kissed her.
Then her blind date decided to pull a knife and try to stab him.
From that point forward, she’s done nothing but cause him trouble.
Trouble that he’s starting to find increasingly adorable.

Saylor and Lock have the best first meeting ever I think. I mean, kiss cam and junk punching is quite the introduction to each other. It takes quite a while for the pair to get together but once they do it's passionate from the start with drama and some suspense when certain happenings make them realise someone is gunning for them. Will Lock be able to keep himself and Saylor safe or would they be better off if she just went back home to Benton, LA?
I adore Laniland. This whole world is somewhere I get to lose myself and it makes me happy to be back here, and I love that now we are getting next gen books that we get to revisit couples that I loved from many books ago. In this case Kettle and Adeline from Halligan to my Axe (Heroes of the Dixie Wardens) and Downy and Memphis from Bang Switch (Code 11 - KPD SWAT). I can't wait for whoever is next and I give Sinners are Winners 5 stars.

OH my word, the feels! The feels that this book gives you! I say this every time but it bares repeating: Read the previous stories, read from Boomtown on, and read in order, this way you will get the feels and appreciate the amazingness that Lock and Saylor are.
Lock and Saylor have a chance meeting a ballgame, an unforgettable meeting. Six months later, Saylor ends up knocking on Lock's door to use his kitchen. Lock agreed to help Royal out and let her friend come over but he had no clue that the girl that bakes cakes and the girl from the ballgame were the same person. But things since the ballgame have not been good for Saylor and she is intending on moving back to Benton. For Lock, he is willing to do anything to get Saylor to stay, he just knows that given the chance they can be something good. But it seems like at every turn something is happening that makes them wonder if Saylor staying is a good idea. Can Lock keep her safe with him, or is she better off with her daddy?
This was so good, I can't even go into how good this was. The naughty bits were on fire, the right amount of drama and danger. We got to see previous characters that we love. My only complaint is I found it difficult to believe that Lock and Saylor's paths never crossed before. Other than that, it was a super amazing read. I give this 5 stars.
