Kennedy stood there like a deer in the headlights. Her face had paled, and she looked like she was going to puke all over the floor. She still looked pretty, just a little queasy.

“Kennedy,” I repeated.

An odd, low grunt came from her lips.

“You okay?” My feet had moved on their own accord toward her, and they didn’t stop ‘til my toes were inches away from the tips of her running shoes.

“Err, I’m good,” she uttered.

“You think maybe you could help me out? I’m a bit lost here.”

She looked around, her eyes scanning the shelves. “In the baking aisle?”

Kennedy, the 25 year old owner of Zen, the yoga studio in the same complex as Powerhouse M.A. has a dilemma. She is fiercely independent and doesn’t want a man to “keep her”. Unfortunately her rich, snooty mom wants exactly that for her and keeps trying to match her off to her father’s rich, middle aged associates. When Kennedy’s mom tells her she’s hosting yet another party and intends to introduce her to yet another 60 year old rich guy, Karlton; the gay guy who runs the laundromat, comes up with a plan to get a decoy date for Kennedy. Who is their target? Roman, one of the fighters at Powerhouse. However, after hearing about their plan it’s Dante, the eldest of the Powerhouse fighters, who ends up being the decoy.

What happens though when the pair hit it off so well that “decoy” might not be good enough? Will Kennedy be willing to give up a little of that independence and invite a man into her life? In the end though, will any of that matter when Dante’s secret is revealed and it is everything Kennedy hates?

I really enjoyed this book. Funny, sweet, and with a tiny bit of drama, Black Belt in Love is a nice, easy read and that ending! I can’t wait for the next one now. 4.5 stars for Dante and Kennedy.
