The Valentine Boys
Release Date: January 21
His Wranglers fit him like a glove. A really tight, leaving
nothing to the imagination, glove. Codie wants nothing more than to shove that
Wrangler-covered butt straight into the mud.
Ace Valentine has a smart mouth, a devil-may-care attitude,
and those wicked eyes aimed directly at her.
She doesn’t know what to do with that kind of attention.
Especially not from the sweet-talking man that has no problem charming every
woman that enters his orbit—everyone but her, at least.
Ace isn’t sure why Codie Spears had her panties in a twist
when it comes to him, but every snub and insult she hurls his way brings him
closer and closer to falling for her.
He’s not sure what it is about the town’s bad girl that draws
his attention, but every encounter they have leaves him wanting her until
there’s nothing else left to do but have her.
The only thing is, she’s been convinced by everyone around her
that she’s not good enough. Tell a person that she’s a piece of trash enough
times, and eventually she’ll start to believe it. It’s going to take a lot of
smooth-talking and gentling on his part to get her to see that she’s worth it.
And once he has her where he wants her? Well, she’ll make a
mighty fine rancher’s wife.

I need a cowboy! I swear, I thought at one point I wanted a
cop... but nope, NOW, I have to turn my soldier boy into a cowboy, LOL. Giving
us something a bit new, Lani Lynn Vale takes us into the world of rodeos,
bulls, stubborn horses, and some sexy cowboys in chaps. We are not new to the
Valentines, we love their sister in her book with Nico, Double Tap, This is
also a new series that can be read anywhere after reading that one, so no need
to be up to date on the new second gens as this takes place timeline wise,
after the first SWAT series but seeing as the second gen has the twins before
that... I hope I didn't lose you in that.
Ace is the oldest of the Valentine boys, and after their past
coming back wasn't easy, but they have done it and have been successful in
getting the ranch back up and running. The past will always haunt him, but he
will not let that stop him. He also will not let Codie deter him from what he
wants, and after getting to know her, that's her. No matter what Codie thinks
of herself, Ace knows she is perfect for him, now to just wait her out.
OMG, I needed a fan at one point, my favorite scene, the gym
scene with Ace in sweats.... that was just HOT. This was such a good start to
the Valentine series, I can't wait to see where this series goes. I also loved
that we got to see the kids and what little devils they are, Georgia and Nico
sure have their hands full. I give this very entertaining read 5 stars.

Codie has moved back to Kilgore to help out her grandad on his
ranch. She's not quite sure she's still needed though, apart from doing odd
jobs, so is already contemplating leaving the town that hates her when she
meets Ace, the eldest of the Valentine brothers. Living the slightly hermit
life himself, having his own drama filled past in Kilgore, Ace isn't sure he
wants the drama that comes with Codie but he can't help but be drawn to her and
luckily the feeling seems to be mutual.
Yes! I have been waiting to read about these Valentine boys
since we met them way back in the original S.W.A.T series. Because of this the
timeline is slightly out seeing as we're now into next gen stories with the
other series' , but that doesn't affect the story here apart from some of the
children being teenagers, not the adults we now know them to be. This is more
of a slow and sweet story with very little drama and action, but some nice
steamy scenes and leaves you feeling the warm and fuzzies at the end. I can't
wait for the other brother's stories and give Herd That 5 stars.
