Dover "Collector" Ragnes and his small group of brothers; nomad bikers who make up the members of the Devil's Due MC, travel around America helping where needed; where the law won't or can't help, making sure the Devil gets his due, while also hoping to resolve their own personal torments.
Sixteen years after Dover's little sister Raleigh, was brutally murdered, they catch a solid lead into the person they think did it, leading them to the small town of Leed, Alabama. They also find Emerson Flint. Raleigh's best friend.
This was a dark read in my opinion. The subject matter, and certainly a few scenes in this book are definitely not for the faint hearted. For such a dark subject though, Chelsea did not shy away, she didn't gloss over it... she went there, she wrote it, and I think she wrote it very well. Some of the flash back scenes, and the discovery of what actually happened sixteen years earlier, brought tears to my eyes.
I really enjoyed this, it looks like this series is going to be a good one, and I'm looking forward to reading Trapper, Rowdy, Deacon, Judge, and X's stories. I give In The Red 4.5 stars.
