Aww this book really got the feels going. Mila has to go home once she finds out her best friend Lucas; someone she has always loved, even though they were never a couple, has passed away. The whole time from her arriving home until the funeral, really got the emotions going as she struggled to come to terms with it.
There was one person who could really understand her grief though: Lucas' older brother, Ryan. Both of them devastated by Lucas' death, they find solace in each other, despite every one else's misgivings.
I enjoyed this book. It was a... I want to say nice but it seems wrong calling a book about two people grieving so bad nice, lol, but it was a good introduction to the series, and the characters that will be written about. Going off the series name, I'm guessing the next books will be about Mila's brothers. I've enjoyed everything I've read from L.A. Cotton and this was no exception. I will be keeping up with the series and I give The First Time is the Hardest 4 stars.
About L.A. Cotton
Contemporary Romance and Romantic Suspense…written with feeling L.A is author of the Fate’s Love Series and Chastity Falls Series. Home is a small town in the middle of England where she currently juggles being a full-time mum to two little people with writing. In her spare time (and when she’s not camped out in front of the laptop) you’ll most likely find L. A immersed in a book, escaping the chaos that is life.
