At the end of Freak, Slayer opens the door to the clubhouse to find a bouncing baby girl, well a twelve year old version anyways. After finding that surprise, Slayer gets Wendy to help out. Wendy and Slayer have a bit of a hate/hate relationship, but if you ask Wendy's mom and aunt it's just their chemistry that they have yet to act on. Will Slayer and Wendy act on that chemistry? Or will Wendy still leave and go home when everything has settled?
So, WOW, Winter Travers is seriously throwing us some shock factors here! Just when you think everything is going smooth BAM that was some curve ball! Ready for the next in the series, I give this 4 stars.

Slayer, Wendy and Adley have to find their way around their new normal when Adley is dropped on Slayer's doorstop with a declaration of "you're my daddy". So far Wendy and Slayer seem to have a hate/hate relationship but once Adley takes a shining to Wendy she begrudgingly agrees to help Slayer out until Adley gets settled in and Slayer finds his feet as a parent. Will the two continue with their snarky interactions or will the close proximity bring out feelings that are more than hate, and might even be the opposite... love?
This was a quite fast paced story but a slow burn romance, and quite a few shocks thrown in. Whatever comes next should certainly be interesting and I give Slayer 4 stars.
