I actually have no words right now to describe this book. I absolutely hated Jax! I could not stand him. I get it, its an MC read, yeah they are man whores, and they treat women like crap. There is a bunch of stuff that happens that I, for obvious reasons can't explain or talk about. At 50% I just felt sad; sad for Cherrie, sad her life sucked, that she met what seemed like an ok guy but she couldn't give him her affections because they were taken by Jax already, who didn't deserve it at all. She did stand up for herself for most of the story, and stopped being a victim, that was nice to see. 

All in all, this had drama, sexy times, and some really disturbing stuff (beware if you have any triggers).  I didn't feel you needed to read book one before this, there was a hint about the couple from book one but their story had no impact on this at all. I'm going to go ahead and give a 3.5, but only for the reasons of HEA, good sexy time writing, and Cherrie not being a victim anymore. Other than that, for me, I feel it should be lower.
 

 

Chiah Wilder is the author of Hawk’s Property, the first book in the Insurgents MC Series. It is a full length, standalone novel. Its release date is set for October 27, 2015. Always a lover of books, she began writing at a young age and continued through college with collections of short stories.
