Milan had a duty, and he understood that duty and in fact looked forward to his arranged marriage. When he gets to the new estate and meets his betrothed, Raphael, he is hopeful even though the man seems a bit cold like his country. But things with Raphael are not as they seem, and soon after their marriage, things grow colder than the frozen land that surrounds them. For their bond to work and thrive the two must maintain touch, and when even that is refused, Milan starts to flounder. Is his husband trying to kill him, or does he just not understand what his refusal is doing to Milan? Will it be too late to rectify the situation?
This was an ok book, a first for me as this is more steam punk than I had been aware of. It didn't feel like Milan and Raphael had any chemistry, and for the storyline I understood that, but even after everything was said and done there didn't seem to be any. Some drama, a couple of really tame naughty bits, and some surprising twists make up this story. I give this 3.5 stars.
