Release Date: March 21st 2015

Aleck Sanford had everything growing up, absolutely everything, except for the one thing he and his sister desired the most: the love of their parents. After many years of emotional neglect, Aleck never understood or knew how to love, his parents certainly didn’t love them or even each other. How do you pick yourself up when everything around you falls apart? When the only person to love you has to leave?

Everything changed when he met Charline Dane. Still affected by his past, Aleck doesn’t understand or do relationships but he wants her. He just doesn’t know what to do about it. When Charline’s past catches up with her Aleck is forced to make a decision: fight or flight?

Will Aleck finally give into his feelings for Charline and save her before it’s too late or will their pasts get in the way? Will they both be able to overcome history and start anew?

Teaching Aleck is the second book in the Last Hangman MC series. I really liked Saving Ayden and was looking forward to more from this author.

Aleck is a Last Hangman, when the story starts it tells about how he became a brother, and the issues that he had been facing. Charline has been in love with Aleck forever, but he constantly rejects her, the first time for her age.

Time skips in the story, a lot! Going from when Charline was 17 through her college days, to her moving back home to get a job as a pre-school teacher. Aleck continues to push Charline away, and she moves on in a fashion, eventually getting a boyfriend. But of course this wouldn't be an MC book if there wasn't danger of some sort, and you truly have no clue until it happens; there was no predicting this.

Unfortunately, I felt the characters hardly had interaction with each other; it was always Charline trying to get Aleck and him pushing her away. Between the time jumps, and every time they did have any interaction they were fighting,  I felt the characters coming together the way they did was forced, and there was no real chemistry.

This book left me with questions.. The thing Aleck was hiding, why was she not furious with him? And after all the rejections, she still wanted him?  I was actually truly disappointed with this story.  I give this 3.5 stars, the writing was good, and the sexy time scenes were ok although there were very few of them.

I really hope Book 3, Healing Gabe redeems this series for me.
