(4 stars)
Rosie had to return home when she found out her mother's health took a rapid decline. Now, she works nights, and takes care of her mother during the day. It's not the life she thought she would have at over forty but she is trying her best. When she ends up witnessing something, that to be honest she had no clue she witnessed, she ends up meeting Jake, one of the security specialist that work for the stars that have overtaken the town for a movie. Now, Jake is between a rock and a hard place, do his job or act on his interest in Rosie, someone that could be the "bad guy" in the situation they have all found themselves in.
This is not my first Freya Barker read, and it will definitely not be my last. I do find that this was not as amazing as her other stories, I'm not sure what was different in this story. This is still entertaining, full of drama, violence, spicy naughty moments, and fun characters, but it all just added up to this being a good book, and not a great one that we normally get. I give this 4 stars.
Freya Barker loves writing about ordinary people with extraordinary stories.
Driven to make her books about 'real' people; with characters who are perhaps less than perfect, but just as deserving of romance, thrills and chills, and their own slice of happy.
A recipient of the RomCon “Reader’s Choice” Award for best first book, “Slim To None”, and Finalist for the Kindle Book Award with “From Dust”, Freya has not slowed down.
She continues to add to her rapidly growing collection of published novels as she spins story after story with an endless supply of bruised and dented characters, vying for attention!
Thanks so much for your review! :)
